Our Journey at Here We Flo
Susan C. Allen Augustin, Co-Founder of Flo
What do you do?
Here We Flo is a sustainable cycle care company making products for periods, pee, and pleasure that are better for your body and better for the planet.
Our mission is to eliminate shame and stigma around intimate health. We do that through products made with plant-based materials like organic cotton and bamboo, delivered in our signature funny, feminist, and fierce tone.
Ultimately, we want to help create a world where people with periods are crazy confident in their messiest moments.
Why is JEDI a focus for your organisation?
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are central to how we think about both our culture and our impact.
Creating a world where people feel confident and supported in their bodies starts internally. At Flo, we want our team to feel able to bring their authentic selves to work and achieve incredible results both inside and outside our organisation.
Our mission is about challenging stigma and outdated norms around periods, pee, and pleasure. Focusing on JEDI helps ensure that as we grow, our workplace and our work in the world continue to reflect those values.
Why has your organization chosen to become a JEDI Matters collaborator?
Like many of the brilliant startups and scaleups in this collective, we have ambitious goals for our business and the communities we serve. We also know that meaningful progress on issues like justice and equity rarely happens in isolation.
Joining JEDI Matters allows us to learn from other organizations, share resources, and support each other in doing this work well. By working together, we believe we can have a bigger impact than any of us could on our own.
What do you hope to achieve with JEDI Matters?
We hope to build a community of learning and accountability with the other organizations in the collective.
For us, that means continuing to educate ourselves, supporting our Flo Babes as they grow and develop, and making sure we are creating a workplace where people feel supported and empowered.
The more we learn and improve as an organization, the better stewards we can be for our team, our customers, and the wider community.
