A Collective of small & medium sized businesses championing Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.

Our Mission is to collaborate with like-minded SMEs to build knowledge & accessible resources to help transform our organisations.

Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), with up to 250 employees, make up a staggering 99.9% of UK businesses, creating 51% of UK Turnover & 60% of our employment. That’s a whole lot of potential that we think is being under-utilised to bring about a more Just, Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive society.

The nature of SMEs can make work in the JEDI space harder – we tend to have less people, less budget, less resource, less connections, less scale, less efficiency.  But that’s if we operate on our own.  If we work together, as a JEDI Collective, we can collaborate for greater efficiency, effectiveness, impact & change, regardless of our individual size.

“ When we listen and celebrate what is both common and different, we become wiser, more inclusive, and better as an organisation. ”

Having founded the Collective at the end of 2023, we are starting Year One with what we believe is a realistic and focused plan of action to get us started, prove the Collective concept and sow the seeds of change.

Launching to the 4 Founding organisations on 19th Feb 2024, following Random Acts of Kindness Day, the Collective is organising a series of JEDI events throughout the year for participating organisations.

FAQ’s

Are you open to more members?

Yes!  If you’re an SME and share similar JEDI ambitions, we’d love to hear from you.  Please reach out to: Ali@PlansWithPurpose.co.uk.  We would love to bring on-board more Supporting Members to be part of this movement and hasten the transition to a more Just, Equitable, Diverse & Inclusive society.

Why did you choose the name JEDI MATTERS?

JEDI stands for Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.  Three of our Founding members are B Corp certified and all four Founding members are supportive of the B Corp movement so we felt it made sense to use the B Lab JEDI framework as a common language and approach.  You may also be used to hearing it referred to as Diversity & Inclusion, EDI or DEI or multiple other acronyms.  Whichever acronym or label you prefer, we hope JEDI MATTERS will be a safe space for SMEs to take action together for positive change.

Are JEDI Events open to non-members?

We want to maximise the reach & impact of the JEDI MATTERS Collective, so if you’re interested in getting more involved, let’s chat.  Please contact: Ali@PlansWithPurpose.co.uk
